Planning Region 2

Early Development Network

There are 29 Early Childhood Planning Region Teams in the state. Each one is an interagency coordinating council. There are almost 1,000 children in Nebraska from birth to age three, being served through the Early Development Network. Yet, some eligible children still have not been identified.

You can be part of a "grass roots" effort to locate children and to make parents and the public aware of the assistance available through the Early Development Network.  Contact:

Jenna Koperski-Bohn at 402-721-7710  jkoperski-bohn@esu2.org

Planning Region 2 is a group of parents, agency representatives, child-care providers, special education providers, and school district representatives who meet at least five times a year, working together to:

  • Discuss issues, make recommendations and provide feedback to local agencies related to the provision of services and resources for infants and toddlers with disabilities and their families within the 4 counties and 16 school districts within Planning Region Team 2. (Formerly Region 225, Elkhorn is now its own team, Region 25.)
  • Work with the Early Development Network Services Coordinators to identify gaps and duplications of resources or to develop/share resources.
  • Identify regional training and technical assistance needs for parents, family members, child care providers, and special education service providers that help them identify infants and toddlers with disabilities and to help them meet their developmental needs.
  • Work on Child Find and public awareness to identify infants and toddlers with disabilities.
